Trust badges visible
SEPA registered badge. 5-star reviews. Customer testimonials. Years in business. Local business award (if any).
Service area map visible
Show exact postcodes covered. 'We serve: Rutherglen, Motherwell, Clydebank, etc.' Reduce friction: 'Your postcode: [lookup]'
Pricing clearly shown
No hidden costs. e.g., 'Weekly: £25. Bi-weekly: £20. First clean: £45.' Explain price difference (time = money).
Instant quote tool embedded
Postcode → price. No form. Takes 3 seconds. Builds confidence in the price.
3-5 customer testimonials with photos
Real names, faces. Include pain point & transformation: 'I hated stepping in it. Now my garden is spotless.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Before/after gallery
Visual proof. Show 5-10 garden transformations. Video time-lapse of a clean (if possible) hits hard.

Show: 'Call for instant quote: [number]'. One-tap dialling on mobile.
Calendar booking widget live
Let them pick date/time. Auto-sends confirmation SMS/email. Show next 30 days. Mark weekends if you don't service.
Instant quote form (max 3 fields)
Postcode, service frequency, email. No credit card. No 'preferred color' nonsense. Speed = conversion.
WhatsApp button option
For younger audiences. 'Message us on WhatsApp' link. Click → opens chat. Converts younger dog owners.
FAQ section visible (above fold or easy link)
Top Qs: 'Do you work Sundays?', 'What if my dog is unfriendly?', 'What if I miss a payment?', 'Can I cancel anytime?'
Instant confirmation email + SMS sent
Subject: 'Booked! Your garden cleanup is [date] at [time]'. Include: date, time, price, technician name (if assigned), arrival window (e.g., '10am-12pm').
Confirmation includes liability waiver link
Simple PDF they can review. 'Sign before technician arrives.' Set expectation: this is a professional service, not casual.
24-hour reminder SMS sent
Day before: 'Hi [Name], we'll be at [address] tomorrow [time]. Reply STOP to reschedule.' Reduces no-shows.
What to expect email (if first-time)
Explain the service. 'We'll be 15-30 minutes. We bring our own equipment. After we're done, you get a photo.' Reduce anxiety.
Technician details + photo shared
Name, photo, vehicle type, license plate (if available). 'Your technician is John. He'll arrive in a blue van, number plate...' Trust builder.
Easy reschedule link in confirmation
If they need to move the date, don't make them call. Link to reschedule page → pick new date from available slots.
Technician arrives on time (or early)
Send live location 30 min before. 'John is 10 minutes away.' Respect their time. No-show = refund + apology.
Technician is clean, professional, friendly
Uniform or branded shirt. ID badge. Polite. Explains what they'll do. Asks about special instructions ('Watch the pet door', etc.).
Photo taken after service
SEPA bag sealed. Garden clean. Timestamp on photo. Send within 1 hour: 'Your garden is done! Here's proof.'
Gentle upsell after service
In person or in the confirmation photo: 'Next clean is [date]. Upgrade to premium tier to get priority booking?' Soft sell.
No surprises at checkout
Price should match quote exactly. If customer is paying on-site: card reader or contactless ready. Prefer upfront billing (before service).
Thank you email + survey sent (same day)
'Thanks for booking! Did we meet expectations? [Quick 2-question survey]' Response = email/SMS follow-up if negative.
Automatic booking of next service (if recurring)
Weekly or bi-weekly client: next service auto-booked 7 days out. Email: 'Your next clean is scheduled [date]. Reply CONFIRM or RESCHEDULE.'
Upsell sequence triggered (if not recurring yet)
Day 2: 'Loved the service? Book weekly for 4 weeks and save 25%.' Day 5: 'Customers love bi-weekly. Try it next time.' Day 10: 'Last chance: lock in monthly plan.'
Referral incentive sent immediately
'Know another dog owner? Refer them, you both save 10%.' Link + unique referral code in email.
5-star review request (after positive survey)
If they rated positive: 'We'd love a Google review. [Link]' Review = social proof for next customers.
Monthly email to subscribers
Tip, photo of customer gardens (with permission), upcoming service reminder. Not salesy. Just useful.
Churn monitoring: track cancellation reasons
When someone cancels, ping them: 'Can we help? [Survey: too expensive, moving, found alternative, etc.]' Use data to refine offering.
Win-back campaign for cancelled clients
30 days after cancellation: 'We miss you. One-time offer: first clean back 50% off.' Reactivates ~15-20% of churned.
Loyalty tier or rewards (optional but powerful)
'After 6 months of weekly service, you get a free deep clean.' 'Every 5 cleanings = £10 credit.' Gamify retention.
Annual customer appreciation
Birthday month offer, anniversary gift (e.g., premium add-on free next service), 'Thank you' card or gift.
Stage 1-3 is about discoverability + first impression. If they can't find you, or your site looks sketchy, they bounce. Invest here.
Stage 4-5 is about removing friction. Confirmations, reminders, and show of professionalism = you're different from DIY.
Stage 6-7 is about conversion to repeat customer. One-time buyer costs 10x a repeat buyer in marketing effort. A referral system + loyalty = exponential growth.
Missing any stage? Customers fall through gaps. If you have no booking calendar (Stage 3), you lose them to competitors with Calendly.
Do these in the next 30 days (foundation):
- Set up Google My Business + local directories (Stage 1)
- Add instant quote tool to homepage (Stage 3)
- Get calendar booking widget live (Stage 3)
- Create booking confirmation email + SMS (Stage 4)
- Set up 24-hour appointment reminder (Stage 4)
Then iterate (next 60 days):
- Add before/after gallery (Stage 2)
- Build customer testimonials (Stage 2)
- Create upsell email sequence (Stage 6)
- Set up churn tracking (Stage 7)
